FAQs
+ What if I do not have any experience in education?
We value diversity in candidates, in terms of their academic background, personal experience and learning exposure. Past teaching related experience is a plus but it is not a prerequisite to join Fellowship as we will provide teaching training and support during the six-week Summer Institute and ongoing training sessions.
+ What kinds of Student Change Projects can I make?
As long as the project idea fits the students’ needs and the school's direction, you are given the autonomy to create projects that combine your expertises and vision. It can be revamping curriculum (check out Janet’s impact story), creating processes and infrastructures (check out Natalie’s impact story)
+ What resources and support will I get from Teach for Hong Kong?
You will have coaching from your Leadership Development Officer, support from the school and full access to our network and resources.
Your Leadership Development Officer will give you timely feedback and suggestions on potential ECA opportunities. You will also be assigned a school mentor, who will keep you updated on the school contexts. More importantly, you are given the space and resources from the school to execute your ideas. You are also free to tap into our vast network (corporate partners such as UBS, Grosvenor Group, Ernst & Young) and resources to support your execution.
+ How will TFHK allow me to scale up my impact during and after Fellowship?
You are always backed by the support from TFHK cross-sector network to take charge over, manage and be recognised for your impact-making journey. You can gain professional advices and insights through our mentors from different sectors, such as Mr. Peter Poon - Chief Program Officer of The D.H. Chen Foundation, Mr. Warren Luk - CEO of Good Lab and many more. Through regular check-ins, your Leadership Development Officers will provide guidance and suggestions to your ideas.
