FAQs
+ What if I do not have any experience in education?
We value diversity in candidates, in terms of their academic background, personal experience and learning exposure. Past teaching related experience is a plus but it is not a prerequisite to join Fellowship as we will provide teaching training and support during the six-week Summer Institute and ongoing training sessions.
+ What resources and support will I get from Teach for Hong Kong?
You will learn critical leadership and teaching skills in our weekly professional development sessions** to elevate your vision and abilities to the next level. We will update you on local and global educational insights via email every week**, so you can keep learning and adopting new teaching pedagogies into your classroom.
+ How will TFHK allow me to scale up my impact during and after Fellowship?
You are always backed by the support from TFHK cross-sector network to take charge over, manage and be recognised for your impact-making journey. You can gain professional advices and insights through our mentors from different sectors, such as Mr. Peter Poon - Chief Program Officer of The D.H. Chen Foundation, Mr. Warren Luk - CEO of Good Lab and many more. Through regular check-ins, your Leadership Development Officers will provide guidance and suggestions to your ideas.
+ How much space am I given at school to design and implement my ideas?
As a Fellow, you can devote more time into designing and executing your projects as your teaching load is lower than regular teachers (i.e. 10-12 classes per week). With a long track record working with TFHK and our Fellows, the principals and school mentors are supportive and willing to provide expert support and resources for you to actualise your ideas.
