Fellowship Journey
Once your journey as a Fellow begins, we help nurture you as a leader in classroom and community through summer training, coaching, and leadership and professional development support.
July - Mid August
Summer Institute
In the six-week Summer Institute, you are equipped with skills and knowledge on teaching, education innovation, and career and leadership development. In collaboration with our partner, Quality School Improvement Project (QSIP) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, we offer essential pedagogical techniques and provide you with real teaching practices.
Apart from practical teaching skills, we invite leaders across sectors to share how they lead changes in their own industries. You get thought-provoked on how cross-sector resources could be leveraged to bring education equity in the long run. Leaders from LinkedIn, Uber, Citi, HKGOV and more have come to share with our Fellows. Workshops with our cross-sector partners also inspire your imagination on how to innovate inside and outside school.
September - June
10-Month Teaching Journey
As a Fellow, you enjoy flexibility in leading formal classes and organizing extracurricular activities, and planning life and career education events for students.
Leading Formal Classes & Students Enrichment Activities
You bear one-third to half of the teaching loads of a regular teacher and the responsibilities of planning and delivering subject lessons and guiding students in the classes. You infuse creative teaching pedagogies and learning activities to enrich students’ learning experience.
Leveraging our network and your expertise, you provide all-round learning experiences to underprivileged students through extracurricular activities and life & career education. You broaden students' exposure to new people and perspectives that were previously unattainable. Allowing them to embrace a sense of possibilities and find a path of realization.
Ongoing Professional Training and Development Support
We support your development through weekly professional development sessions. These are delivered by experienced practitioners, corporate leaders, and our Fellowship Alumni. Topics from lesson delivery and classroom management skills, to career planning and leadership development are covered.
Our Leadership Development Officers and school mentors, who are designated experienced teacher, conduct classroom observations to review your teaching, discuss your progress and challenges, and develop strategies to sharpen your teaching practices. Throughout, you are guided to consolidate learning in regular self-reflection sessions to become more self-aware of your leadership strengths and weaknesses.
Monthly Stipend
You are employed by the school as a full-time teacher with a monthly stipend of $16,000.
Post-Fellowship
